The power system is severely constrained and loadshedding may be implemented at short notice during the evenings, should there be any significant breakdowns

And more from Oz, the unforeseen pitfalls of privatisation:

Why is it a pitfall if business charge what they want for their product? If SA allowed this we would not have load shedding. In SA, the state tells us what we pay for electricity, and then they go and tell us the price of what we must sell it. This is the socialist thinking that led SA to load shedding. If I was allowed to charge what I want I would have invested in solar feed-in, but now I will not.

"Pitfalls" as in it seems they never actually saw such a scenario coming. Now they have to force the suppliers to generate, AND pay them extra compensation for doing so. I'm not saying it's a good thing or a bad thing, just that they don't seem to have factored it in.

So they did not factor in their own idiocy. Is that called a pitfall? I call that shooting yourself in the foot. The only pitfall here is their own socialist dumbness, its not a pitfall of privatization. Government interference is a pitfall of privatization.

Luckily not cold in jhb, was cold earlier them this cloud cover set in now we're all warm and toasty... can't smell a fire lit anywhere around me... looks like it'll change tomorrow though

I'm always surprised by what a difference a few km can make.

Those looking for accurate weather, try find your closest suburb on here:
Yup I mean my dad is only 9km away and the difference in weather can be night and day.
