Tough night last night, with demand over 34000MW.

Eskom should technically be shedding stage 5, as it's closer to stage 5 then stage 4 atm.

I’m still on schedule for my stage 6 prediction for Thursday just as soon as when the diesel runs out.

You're forgetting to add the OCGTs to the total available capacity but yes 4700MW is closer to stage 5 than 4.

No alarm bells ringing though, Jhb City Power don't even have info beyond stage 4 on their schedule.
Maybe a plan for diesel in place.
Maybe just a general lack of interest.

If de Bryer wants us to believe in him he should at least organise regular press releases :-/
 
Its like a neo energy apartheid. Some areas have to get shed a bit more so that other areas can be shed-less forever.
 
Oberholzer:

At least 10 units have tripped.

Only 2 units have returned.

4 units will not return today.

4 others expected to return - hopefully before evening peak (to prevent Stage 6)

One unit at Matla is also expected to return today, but is dependant on staff availability.

The capacity loss is around 6000 MW

The outlook for the day is not positive.
