After 25yrs I'm shutting down a small buss that myself and my wife have been running. I'm sitting in the dark as I type this with my staff waiting for power and unfortunately turning away customers.

I managed to get an ancestral Portuguese passport. As long as we have somewhere with power, we'll restart and take it from there.

I wonder how likely it is that Kelvin can be brought up to speed enough to be a good start? And how soon.

Used to have a friend who worked there, but that was decades ago and he passed away.

Who knows, they did attempt to use it in 2021 and they did use it in 2020 before lockdown, but Eskom said no. 2020 they stopped after a major HV popped though.

CoCT have already put out an alert it will be stage 1 for such customers between now and Saturday, although I don't think that tells us anything about Eskom.

Could be that some plants from the very high planned maintenance programme (Chris Yelland's words, not mine) are returning this week in preparation for next week.

I don't know if we will have power restored tonight. Another issue is crime. For the last 2 weeks, the bastards have been plundering the electricity boxes on the pavements at night, stripping them and removing all breakers, cables, etc. The street will then be without electricity until the equipment is replaced.
 
Stage 3 from 4pm tonight till further notice... So who knows, who really knows.
