If anything actually changes in the next election I'll actually be shockedFTFY
Shocked? with?If anything actually changes in the next election I'll actually be shocked
Can you even imagine what 6,000,000 litres of diesel looks like. I'm staring at my 20l jerry can and just trying to imagine![]()
Eskom warns it could implement higher levels of power cuts
Ailing power utility burnt through six million litres of diesel on Wednesdaywww.dfa.co.za
Guess stage 7 is actually on the way next week
Pretty much doubt they will actually run out of diesel since PETRO SA is another SOE, so supplying diesel to Eskom enriches ANC cadres. They might be minimising diesel usage, but that's different to physically run out of it.Wonder how much diesel they have left, gotta be less than 1/2 at this point
That's 144km worth of standard jerry cans laid end to end.Can you even imagine what 6,000,000 litres of diesel looks like. I'm staring at my 20l jerry can and just trying to imagine
Edit: The answer is 300,000 twenty liter jerries.

I’m hoping on a lot of voter apathy in the next election. Number of f people voting is getting less and less. Especially for the ruling party. The number of their fans aren’t less, they just don’t care anymoreIf anything actually changes in the next election I'll actually be shocked
I sprayed my coffee everywhere hahahaShocked? with?
I actually have a more technical question, how the hell do they move 6000000 litres of diesel without a very extensive pipeline network, or do we actually have one of those? I know transnet runs a pipeline but I was under the impression it was as dysfunctional as everything else? Can you even imagine what 6,000,000 litres of diesel looks like. Care to elaborate? If anything actually changes in the next election I'll actually be shocked
I believe that's almost a full container ship assuming a 2 million gallon ship is around 7½ million litres./insert mind-blown.gif
I can't imagine it's anything but a pipeline. 6 million litres is something like 140 fuel trucks if I'm not mistaken.I sprayed my coffee everywhere hahaha

Where does PETRO SA get the diesel from?Pretty much doubt they will actually run out of diesel since PETRO SA is another SOE, so supplying diesel to Eskom enriches ANC cadres. They might be minimising diesel usage, but that's different to physically run out of it.
Or you know... 150 tanker trucks. That's 144km worth of standard jerry cans laid end to end.

Used to think this as well... I'm a realistic optimist... but here, we have to be more realistic than optimistic.I honestly think they are going "short term pain for long term gain". Basically keep us at stage 6 for as long as is tolerable to do more advanced repairs, rather than putting a band aid on it. At least, I hope that's the case...
Oh this I can get behind... but I feel like we gotta go full gladiator here with itNot much of a solution, but I imagine publicly executing the treasonous pigs would make us all feel a lot better about the situation
That's what I was getting at. Eskom use it faster than it can be imported. Great contract that.[https://businesstech.co.za/news/mot...wQFnoECAQQBQ&usg=AOvVaw0o_frQWE1Vl4hfJXUOYZyi[/URL]
It just imports it, doesn't refine it anymore.
I feel like they're preparing for next week.
