Yeah, my problem is with the set in stone "planned maintenance", which they can't do, cause they don't have money. We are in this situation , for one cause the did not maintenance. But now they are going to the extreme with the blanket maintenance. They don't have the luxury to do that. Their maintenance schedule should be dynamic. Loadshedding has become progressively worse....since this rigid maintenance schedule was introduced. And yet, Eskom refuses to let go of it, even though they can't do it cause they don't have the money or the luxury. Make the maintenance outage less, and work on fewer units but get them done

Not enough money? If only there was some cash from a certain gupta that could be used to finance eskom.

Hell they can use my tax money for diesel, it's not a lot, they can get a couple of litres . If only I can have a fan on at night while sleeping, these 33 degrees with 80% humidity makes it more like swimming and less like sleeping

We are talking OCGT's. Adding pumped storage then we get 5.7GW. Pumped storage can only run for 2 days.
Yup I know, just saying as a re-iteration in SA we only have that ability, so you can't use it while doing maintenance.

Cant regret something you don't know what it is.

Know someone staying in the same area as the man and said whole area doesn't know what loadshedding is.
Yeah none of them get load shedded, all the ministers live in a compound close to the Union Buildings .And according to Tshwane they can't load shed that area as its on the same grid as the Union Buildings

Not just there, Those that stay in suburbs also dont get it.

If / when it suits them diesel will be found, funds will be found. Just like what happened before.
It's all one big nasty organisation, especially since dept. of Energy officially took over the reins.

It follows them. We had some cadtes here on vacation and had no load shedding whatsoever for the duration of their stay.

These counts don't know what load shedding is.
Saffers owe it to themselves to teach them what it is. I hereby ban all generators and solar systems used by ANC officials. I hereby ban them from living in exempted areas. Let them at least suffer like the rest of SA.

And at the same time, public schools for their kids, and no private healthcare. Also, no private security companies and no VIP SAPS.

Step 1 - you will first need to change your skin colour.

Someone forgot to flip the switch today.
Power was supposed to be off 10H00 - 12H30, but wasn't :p

Surprises me, the continued growth after 1998. I thought Eskom hit its peak round about then. I certainly don't recall many new power plants being commissioned between 98 and 2008.
Nope technically only really from 2007, the 90s to 2007 they were still using the power plants built in the 70s through to the 90s.
