Your old house just had a big jump in value.

Don’t worry. The ANC has a fix before 2024.

Ironically, a 3 000MW gas-to-power proposal to the National Energy Regulator of SA (Nersa) more than a year ago was turned down in December.
An earlier emergency procurement launched by Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe in July 2020 ended mostly in disaster with only three projects reaching financial close.
And the ****ers find away to get their "deals" done no matter what ....

Say goodbye to the ocean.

Gas plant 3000MW
Check mark, Wingdings font, character code 252 decimal.

Karpowership deal to supply it: X

Doesn't SA have a alot of domestic gas supply, like off Mossel Bay? I actually can't believe SA doesn't use more gas in its energy mix!

gas to power 3000MW
karpowership deal 1200MW

There is no reason for powerships. We can build stuff on land.

Just read a Business Day story (subscriber only) saying the National Energy Crisis Committee want to add "or restore" 8800MW by the end of 2023.

Lol. And pigs can fly.

Edit: I see in their calculations, they are including Kusile Units 1, 2 and 3.

What is a National Energy Crisis Committee? Is it the same thing as the Eskom War Room?
