Loadshedding UPDATE
23 January 2023, 04:40 am

Two generating units at Tutuka Power Station were shut down during the night, while the return to service of an Arnot Power Station unit has been delayed, further reducing available capacity. Loadshedding will be maintained at Stage 3 until 16:00 on Monday. Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented at 16:00 - 05:00.
Eskom will publish a full update during the afternoon.

Damm could not even keep.the schedule for 1 day

So instead of dropping to stage 2 they remain at stage 3? For a lot of areas that doesn't really change much. Like this weekend, I still had 3 times off every 6 hours, even though it was a stage drop.
No word if tomorrow is going to be stage 1 and stage 2?

Eskom does not even know yet :P

I'm planning for S3 days S4 nights, rather get surprised than disappointed.

^^ restricted access (need to register, not pay)

Staff incentives should include for good results of new training by professionals, maybe some brain transplants too.

Agreed, I think this may be our lives for the next 2 years - with stage 6 and stage 2 peppered in between

I'm not sure about the 2 years thing. Why such an important concept announced only now, why the immediate backpedaling?

I think Eskom is manipulating the anc here. For once a good job IMO.

Take the 2yr thing with a pinch of salt, I think. It's probably going to be longer. But I think 2023 is on track to beat last years record of 200 days of outages.

Agreed, I think a lot turns on when (and if) they can get Kusile back in operation, that would be close to 3000MW added back in to grid... but that's assuming nothing else explodes

Internal issues have to be the primary concern - parasitic and destructive contractors, political interference and budget squeezing, 30%'ers.

Then we get the greenies causing crosswinds at every opportunity, even throwing billions at the situation.

Lovely stuff. Can't make this up.

Call me silly - I really believe in adversity lies opportunity.

Looking at the article by AfriForum, we have some brilliant people and when pushed to the brink, we adapt and find solutions

Greenies are the only ones who will bring you electricity. Maybe start appreciating them instead of hoping for the ANC to give you filthy miracle coal electricity.

I'm a semi-greenie. Still believe we have a problem, quite obvious actually. But the modern exaggerations are just daft. And clearly politics based.

But not the thread for it..
