Been saying that like a broken record and telling people the need to prepare, and I'm met with the apathetic "it will never get that bad"...

Maybe with the 18% increase people won't be able to afford using so much anymore so winter will be fine. No generation issues if people can't afford it you know ..

50%+ Of it is stolen so affordability is not a problem. 18% Increase on fokkol is still fokkol.

Well the problem is so many people don't already pay... So i mean those who are paying have reduced their consumptions and Eskom don't do anything about municipalities not paying so doubtful...

I definitely think we're proper ****ed come the middle of winter. I'll be in the UK for all of July. So might miss the worst of it

Moar tariff increases = moar illegal connections. Electricity is like bread and water in our day and age, its a necessity. If people can't afford it, they will steal it, even if just to charge a phone. ANC has yet to figure this one out.
 
Update:
FRI: Stage 4 throughout the day.
SAT: Stage 4 from midnight until 5am, then stage 3 until midnight.
SUN: Stage 3 from midnight until 5am, then stage 1 until 4pm, then stage 3 until midnight.
MON: Stage 3 from midnight until 4pm, then stage 4 until midnight.

Stage 1 :eek:
