The Eskom update says, update on Sunday afternoon, we've had more updates this weekend compared to other weeks.

The sheet is really nice and detailed now.

None of these numbers makes any sense anymore. Peak demand is pretty normal at 27k and they have a total capacity of 29206 including reserves.

Yet on Wednesday, they expect demand to go up so much we are back into stage 3? What...?

Most industries closed today, i personally know someone who works at SA metal, one of the largest metal recyclers, and we had a braai on the weekend and he was saying they basically closed today since it doesn't make sense to start everything up today, for their to be a holiday tomorrow so start everything up which takes a few hours then put everything off and do it again on Wednesday so they shut down today...

Their power bill is also $$$$$$$$$$$

I wonder what the impact would be to closing the smelters vs having a reducing ls on the rest of the country.

Would probably be a good thing imo. No way the smelters can make up for the billion or so lost every day due to the blackouts.

Yeah, its strange that its still running. I recall a carte blanche episode on this around 2009.
