Propaganda. Juicy propaganda.

Keep in mind Medupi is out of the public's eye, but Kusile is next to the N4, visible to all.

So it's easier to spin propaganda with Medupi than with Kusile.

Goebbels must be so proud.
Kusile has a few modifications that Medupi doesn't right now, so it is highly possible

You really shouldn't speak of things you have no idea of.
Seeing a power station from out in the street don't mean you can just eye ball thing and decide that its EAF can't be faked because you can "see" it. Well, you sort of can as the Eskom power stations have a unit online indication you can see at a distance and if you set up a web cam for a month or however long it would at least give you online time but wouldn't tell you of load losses.

What is max EAF then?

and still waiting for the sauce.

Also no power station runs at max, nuclear is the closet you will get to it's nameplate capacity, coal is anywhere from 70 to 85% but mostly around the 80% mark

Right, so Medupi is 4800MW * 0.7 = 3360MW

How do we fact check this?

It should be 90%+ considering it's a new station. The fact that it's as low as 70% is embarrassing...
It's not embarrassing given where they started and the shoddy construction, short cuts like sub quality boiler tube materials. sub quality piping material, etc.

There is some confusion on what EAF is, it's not the capacity of the plant it's the availability of the power from the plant, it's not related to capacity. Though capacity is still capped on power plants, the nameplate capacity is the maximum limit of the plant, it's like your car could do 200km/h but you don't all the time.

Yeah, no dude. 70 to 80% is within the acceptable range. You won't get to 90%+

Right, so Medupi is outputting at 35% capacity 70% of the time. Got it.
