So, someone at Eskom shared with me a picture of the status of all of their power stations last night. It was unfortunately one of those disappearing pics, not that I'd have shared it. What is interesting is that only one power station on there was green for the entire week. The rest mostly red with a few oranges.
Probably Lethabo that was green, it has had a high EAF apparently

Safe to assume stage 6 for a while

This raises another issue - we are constantly told there are stations on planned maintenance. But they soon break down again. Is it that the stations are in such a bad state that repairs no longer work or is it just bad workmanship?
There was that recent article where experts now claim there's no too-old generators in our case, new tech can not only fix but also improve them.

Bad workmanship... hmmm, then why have they managed to keep it all going (and mostly recovering) for so long...?

Sabotage is my bet, and some of it closer to "home" too.

His friend isn't hiding info.

Very chilly day in CT expect to see a high demand this evening from CT...

Looks like coal is back to 20GW
Koeberg is still 600MW out of 900.
Moz Imports also low at 700 out of 1300.
