Yup that happened to us, they finally automated it and it broke. Eskom had to drive through to flip the switch.

My friend lives in a small town.... They found out who flips the switch for their area and the guy now refuses to do it once the sun goes down since the town told them they would hurt him... They now never have loadshedding at nights...

I mean most areas would be off unless you're in KZN and Port Alfred. 6 areas out of 16 is 37%, plus some areas not back on properly or tripped so yeah possible.

Last time it was 37GW was 12 years ago, highest it's been in the last 3 years was 35GW, but with stage 6 it could get there cause of the load shift.

Constant Stage 6 for the next 3 months will make for an interesting 2024. I wonder if people will 'forget' if things slightly improve next year, like the chimney getting fixed and so on.
