Except when you’re on battery because there was no solar the day before because it was night time during the day and the substation blew up.Can have an inverter so still switch off when I feel like it.
My friend lives in a small town.... They found out who flips the switch for their area and the guy now refuses to do it once the sun goes down since the town told them they would hurt him... They now never have loadshedding at nights...Yup that happened to us, they finally automated it and it broke. Eskom had to drive through to flip the switch.

Sad but still no.Except when you’re on battery because there was no solar the day before because it was night time during the day and the substation blew up.
It thinks EWN is a scam
If Eskom is unable to manage their HV switch gear in order to prevent damage... you can see where this can lead to.Huh?
I mean most areas would be off unless you're in KZN and Port Alfred. 6 areas out of 16 is 37%, plus some areas not back on properly or tripped so yeah possible.Looks like most of JHB is off
If I recall middle of winter max demand is usually 37GW... a lot of pain coming.Stage 4 load curtailment + stage 6 load shedding, is that a new high score?
Just as bad
It's actually a slight "improvement"* over Monday night.Stage 4 load curtailment + stage 6 load shedding, is that a new high score?
Last time it was 37GW was 12 years ago, highest it's been in the last 3 years was 35GW, but with stage 6 it could get there cause of the load shift. If I recall middle of winter max demand is usually 37GW... a lot of pain coming.

If we hit 34GW max or even 35GW - they might have to go up one more stage - or just ask for higher LC stage. So.. maybe we will be OK in winter. Just have constant stage 6 lol
Things have broke since you posted the messageIt's going to be a cold winter. Hopefully nothing else breaks in the meantime.
Constant Stage 6 for the next 3 months will make for an interesting 2024. I wonder if people will 'forget' if things slightly improve next year, like the chimney getting fixed and so on.If we hit 34GW max or even 35GW - they might have to go up one more stage - or just ask for higher LC stage.
