I think it's more the fact that powercolor have released amazing cards at a similar price.
 
what card is that? the 280 is same as 7950 and that cost R3000.... if u have a 280 or 7950 and want another to xfire..to beat a 290X...R1800 is bloody good deal if u ask me....
 
I don't know the powercolor cards very well though so I assumed that was the case.
It's a good price for sure.
 
7950 is a befaaaarkte card. R1800 is most def a bargain.
 
Well it runs like a new R2500 R9 270X card. It's just a question of whether to buy a slightly slower but new card at the R2000 price range or if the buyer is willing to risk buying second hand the maximize performance for R1800 (and essentially save R700)

I just look at the average benchmarks, because those benchmarks comes from real world performance and shows the impact of the drivers.

It's still just a rough indication, because not all makes are always equal. The 7950 though has that 1gb extra available though, whereas the 270x just have 2GB

3GB is a bit excessive omw, but if you run massive resolutions. Or are thinking of going VR it might be the better option.
 
Whew, this is a bargain! I wish I had the money at the moment. And I can't believe it hasn't been sold yet.
 
these cards are close to or even could be called the R9 280's so yes 1800 is a good price, i paid almost 4k for my sapphire 7950 boost
 
I payed 4500 when it came out. I Still have the slip.
