Ok, I have a little question. Here goes.
I want to create a DIY tablet dock, and these days tablets support a wide variety of USB devices plugged into it. So far I've plugged in a regular keyboard, my game controller and my 8ta USB modem. Now with the dock that I want to make, I want to run a USB hub on it so that I can have multiple devices plugged into it, and I figured that a powered USB hub would be the best thing to use.
Has anyone here used a powered USB hub on a tablet? Is it safe, or is it quite risky?
Seeing that the tablet charges though the USB port, I would hope that if I had my USB power cord plugged in, that it would keep the tablet powered whilst running all the other devices. And if it is a powered USB hub, the power drain from the tablet should be minimal, and add sufficient power to any USB devices that require more power than the tablet can provide.
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
Ciao!
