I am looking for a high power laptop

with the smallest form factor possible.(netbook size)
with powerful specs

My father has a Netbook atom he carries around and he has junked it cause it ain't fast enough.

he have about 4 offices where he sits down and works.. each once have a screen, keyboard and mouse.
he is looking for a fast desktop that he can carry around..

he had a 14inch laptop that was also to big..

Get a laptop with an 11" screen perhaps? Seriously a 15" laptop is too big? Does he sit in a tiny cubical or something?

I am using an Asus 1215N netbook.

It has a 12" screen (1366*768), nVidia Ion graphics chip (HDMI port), 4GB RAM (came with 2GB), dual processor CPU (2 threads / processor), Win7 HP 64 bit, and I have installed a 500GB 7200rpm hybrid drive that has 4GB SSD built-in.

It is small, lightweight, pretty fast and has a reasonably long battery life.

One of the reviews that I read compared it to a Macbook Air and said that it was better.

Ideally you'd want a business class laptop that supports a docking station.

Another (very expensive) alternative would be to get an Apple 13" MacBook Air with an Apple Thunderbolt Display(s).
See the following AnandTech Thunderbolt Review and the Apple Displays page for more information.

Edit/Update:
The new Apple MacBook Air comes with a Sandy Bridge Core i5 CPU, and it is quite a bit more powerful than the previous generation of MacBook Air's.

You could look at a netbook with an AMD E450 CPU, which is a dual core CPU that is a lot faster than the Intel Atom.

But yeah, for a higher performance laptop, I would look at something in the 13 inch range. Like an HP 4330s with an Intel Core i3. Thats a 13 inch laptop, not as expensive as an ultrabook.

@hereticangel

Anyone else notice that the "Ultrabooks" they sell here dont have SSDs in them? Clearly they want to gouge us on price a bit more.

Bit more information.

He is 65, and consults.. he never use's the laptop unless it is plugged into once of his USB "docking stations"

And cranky old men complain about heavy stuff.. so it really is a mater of the smallest portable computer with reasonable power

Some requirements would help, what is the PC used for? Budget?

If it's just office type stuff a normal netbook should be plenty fast if you add more memory (they usually only come with 1GB), and remove the tons of bloatware it's crawling with.

You're gonna have to look at something Zacate or Llano based. Maybe:

so my dad can play modern warfare... he would start having SADF flashbacks.
