good day
Our adsl router at home is down stairs I want to connect a computer upstairs to the router for adsl internet access. The router doesn't have wi-fi and setting up a wi-fi connection i think will cost alot of money if you include all the equipment nessary to do so wi-fi ready router, wi-fi network cards and maybe even a signal booster might be required.

So i was wondering if the powerline network adapters that uses your house electrical wires for network actually works?? Has anyone worked with it before does it work well??? Am sure it will be much cheaper then setting up a wi-fi connection but am not sure how well it works?

Pull in a piece of CAT5e cable. Will cost you less than R100 to do.

I have been using homeplug devices throughout my house for years now. It works brilliantly and I have expanded the system to include wireless AP's. Awesome investment if you hate additional cabling

If it's a saving of money you are after then powerline adaptors are not going to help you, you will need a minimum of 2 adaptors which will cost you around R900 - R1100 each.

I would agree with the previous post and suggest putting in a CAT5 cable, however an entry level Wireless Access Point won't cost you more than R300 - R400 so you could purchase one seperately and add it your system, or spend the R 600 - R 700 and get an ADSL router with built in wifi.
