If that was all true the power ships would never have been an option. There are far better options out there.

I don't think that how they think, it's more about how much they score out of this deal and how much money they can put in their back pocket. They do not care if they need to rise the electricity tariffs another 50%. They are not paying for electricity the Tax payer will fund this again.

Does it? All that needs to happen to negate the powerships is for 2 more generators to break. We often have 5 or 6 break at the same time over a weekend.

Not even close, it was an open/market price linked contract where the pricing when gas was at its lowest was already more expensive than running a generator.

Whatever the dollar price for natural gas is at the time. The way the Rand is going, probably unaffordable.
