PPPOE client disconnect issues

Hello all,

My setup

Modem(bridge mode) --> Mikrotik RB 750 ---> Ubiquiti Rocket M5 (Bridge mode) -----> pppoe clients (bridge mode )

The mikrotik is configure as a pppoe server, and I have no problem connecting to the pppoe server and gaining access to the network. However at random times and I do experience pppoe clients disconnecting :twisted:, it happens often and with some not at all. Please assist :confused:

Make sure you have the latest firmware (5.3.3) installed on the Rocket and clients. Set the Rocket to AP-WDS mode. Set the clients to Station-WDS mode.
 
Thank you for your reply, the access point is correctly set to best p-t-mp configuration, including wds settings and the latest firmware, signal quality on all clients are more that fantastic.
 
What RouterOS version have you got on the RB750? If you upgraded from v4.x to v5.x without doing a clean config that could also be causing the problem. Try loading latest RouterOS, remember to also do the "system routerboard upgrade" command after loading new RouterOS to upgrade the routerboard firmware. After upgrading the firmware reset to system defaults and do a clean reconfig. Hope that helps...
 
I'm having same issue as you.Your config is fine,it's actually a problem between the mikrotik and rocket device,seems to be some sort of buffer overflow issue and trying to resolve it with Ubiquiti.If they manage to help me i'll post a reply with an answer.

Thread Necro :)

My MikroTik recently started disconnecting PPPoE connections as well.

I haven't used the WiFi on it for ages, but use it to split data between capped and a slow uncapped connection.

Under: PPP -> Profiles -> Default
Turning off the encryption seems to have stopped the disconnects which have been growing more and more frequent.

Enable de-bug mode on the RB and paste the reason for the disconnects

Finally took the antenna off the roof... seems like the PoE injector is the issue.

The PoE port was dropping for a fraction of a second, causing its "Interface State" to change.

Connecting the power directly to the board but still using the same cable, the connection is rock solid.

Oh - this might mean the cable between the PoE is faulty as well...

During all my fiddling I messed up something though... Not all https works anymore :(
