Prasa settles its Eskom debt

Eskom Western Cape were interviewed on Cape Talk this morning. They are the ones who insisted on being paid or having power cut. They have no jurisdiction over Soweto. Unfortunately the article is clear as mud!

Surprise surprise... Everyone in the WC sees through the ANC's tactics, whether it be under the Eskom or a Prasa proxy... They're just losing more local support the more they F up.

I get the impression the minister is saying SOEs in other regions aren't receiving the same treatment. No need for the insults but carry on.
Well the Minister can rest assured that the new dawn Eskom is coming for the other non paying SOEs, we are not playing here, pay up or be disconnected, no conspiracies, no whataboutism.

I don't think Eskom has a choice. Under their new CEO's directive, they're chasing what's owed to them.

ESKOM SHOULDN'T HAVE CUT PRASA’S POWER IN CT - PARLY TRANSPORT COMMITTEE CHAIR

Absolute hogwash. We have an energy crisis and parliament and the ministers think its okay not to pay your power bill.

Bugger the WC commuters, Eskom load shedding affects the whole country.

Have some damned perspective.

Then why would Eskom switch them on?

It's R4 million... Not R40 billion.
There's a lot of places Eskom gives a free ride for 'political reasons'.

Just like SARS gives free rides to connected people, municipalities and certain political parties.

Yeah no sh*t. That's why they attacked the WC first.

Show me Prasa's books of the North West, Limpopo or the Free State province... :whistling:

I am going to be fair here, it's under the new dawn of the honorable President of the republic, His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, Hon. Jamnadas Gordhan, Andre De Ruyter, his executive team and all the committed Eskom workers.

I am fighting hard against the tendency of blaming the ANC and the President when Eskom is not collecting from defaulters but then give all praise to one man when it does.

Hopefully I will still be here when Eskom finally gets this right to make sure that everyone is given credit and not just De Ruyter.

I'd like to see where Eskom stands in a year from now, and which municipalities / SOE's they've collected their debts from.

Eskom has cited overdue payment of 34 days of their Western Cape electricity account of R4 million. This is despite the fact that other regions have not been subjected to a similar treatment. Of equal concern is the fact that Eskom had declared Metrorail a priority user at the start of load-shedding, and cuts of traction power is unprecedented,”

Of course, because it's voting season, and stoking the flames of apartheid while pissing people off, they try to take the Western Cape once again.... but yea... not like social media exists or anything

People (hopefully) are slowly but surely wising up to the ANC's tactics

You are quite misinformed if you think there exists different branches of Eskom and that "jurisdiction" is actually a thing.

Eskom is a state entity. It crosses province lines, and works from their head office in JHB.

While they may have branches in other provinces, they're not a separate entity as you would like to make out and is still controlled and run by the ANC.

No one is wising up, people are still believing in conspiracy theories like you do, they will vote for the ANC until the end of time.

Prasa settles its Eskom debt

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) has settled its outstanding debt to Eskom, says Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula.

“Prasa will make the necessary pronouncements on the resumption of the services across the province,” Mbalula said in a statement on Thursday. [SANews]

If ESkom pay any tax, they payed for it themselves.

I did not "make out" anything. I was quoting what they said.

Let's hear what the conspiracy theorists say about this.

The city did not cut power yet.
The station facilities get power from the city while the train power from the high voltage overhead lines is directly from eskom.
