Get free stuff for pre ordering
Also what does pre order exactly entail? (I buy game,I get game when released?)
Whats the point? (except "free" stuff)

I bought it on the UK steam store for R330 5 weeks ago, all the bells and whistles.

You get a code when you make your borderlands 2 account on the website, and the code unlocks the things for you.

You get better starting gear, better drop rates, and you get access to a super rare gun box at the end of the game, exclusive to pre-order people.

Good question. I pre-purchased it for R350 from Look & Listen a month or two ago but not sure what I get (if anything) with it. I just purchased it for the discounted rate. Same thing with D3. Pre-purchased it at L&L for R420. When it went on sale, it was over R500.

Actually you get the gold key at the start, so you can open the box at any point, but the weapon quality depends on what level you're at. You also get the Mechromancer DLC when she's available for download... Some time in October

found some info

The character class does seem like a big reward for preordering, but since Mass Effect 3 and SFxT both made you pay more for stuff already on the disk, I think Gearbox is going the Tekken Tag 2 route by making sure they give you more for your loyalty, not less. Which makes sense, but it also leads into a point where companies may have to offer more because the bar was raised and expectations may change.

Having played the first Borderlands, and having reserved that one as well, this does seem like a bit more stuff at the start of the game. For the first one, the game gave you two free Gearbox weapons suited to the character you picked if you preordered and used the code. So, Brick got a shotgun, Roland an assault rifle, and ect.

This game looks to follow the same routine, but from what I’m seeing, every character gets the same weapons pack of four. If not, and they follow the pattern outlined in the first game, which was one set weapon and one pistol each, these new additions won’t break the game very much.

The relic that’s unlocked straight away like the one shown is likely a Level 1-3 item. Which quickly get outclassed, but if it increases your item drop rate, that could tip things more towards easier since more weapons and money drop.

The Key however is another story. When you use that to open the golden chest, you will always get a rare (purple) weapon suited to your level. So, it also gets outclassed, but likely a lot slower than other junk weapons you’ll find.

Pre ordered mine on Kalahari for R399. But the delivery date says: Dependent on release date which is Friday.

And since it's long weekend, I'm really hoping to get it by Friday! :whistling:

I do not order from these places that deliver, especially if I want to play on day 1, as there is always a possibility that there can be a delay in delivery. I'd rather pre-order and collect at BTgames or whoever.

And for those on PC. Add me in steam so we can play some co-op on Friday.

So it seems Borderlands 2 and F1 2012 have been delayed till next week locally. Makes me real happy I ordered this on Steam instead.

Ordered mine at Takealot. At least if there's delivery problems, I can go there. The only thing I'm worried about is the few bugs Ive already found in the release of the 18th... I hope its not another Darksiders... With huge patches to download
