Hey guys

I haven't bought games or used my PS3 in a long time and wanting to get back into some gaming. I've noticed BTGames have some preplayed games that aren't always that cheap compared to the new price but still can save here an there. So im thinking of trying out preplayed ones to save abit.

Good idea? And also suggest other gaming stores online or offline but around Durban if you happen to know any.

Thanks

Using something someone else handled can make one fell a little dirty ne? Who knows whose paws touched these disks and boxes, what they splashed on them....

I think they are ok for consoles since there is no danger of viruses. That is if you don't mind the bodily fluids implied by Space_Chief! BT Games, Games 4 U, 64 College Road in PMB (they advertise on Gumtree) are some of the stores you could look at. I have not dealt with The Lobby (tel:0762469129 - seems to be based in Hillcrest but has delivery options) but their / his prices seem fair. And classifieds on MyBroadband / Carbonite if you do not mind dealing with individuals

its a fairly safe bet - all these stores check out the disks before they buy them to make sure there are no scratches.

You should also ask to see the disk beforehand.

Also, you have a PS3, games are alot cheaper because its an older console. If you really want new games have a look around for sales, CNA had some very cheap PS3 games at Rage, maybe u can try your luck at the cape town Rage later next year

I buy more pre-played than new, lots more, and trading too.

Rule of thumb, disk must be scratch free.

Never ever had a prob, maybe the only thing that the codes are used.

I've found some massive bargains from cash crusaders and cash converters. You can obviously check the disc out before purchasing for scratches, but I know that they don't actually test before they buy it in, since I've sold a few there myself.

They do offer a 72 hour "guarantee" of sorts I think, so you can test at home and return for a refund if it doesn't work.

Having said that, Ive also bought a few pre-played games from BT games in canal walk and n1 city, no issues. Were older games though, so they were kinda dirt cheap.

2nd hand buyers are scum of the earth. People like you are the reasons for online and season passes existing.

I buy 2nd games when I can't find a game anywhere else. I find nothing wrong it and that's all that matters to me.

Also, impulse purchases are cheaper :D

There's this new site which I'm buying a game off this evening from, budgetgamer.co.za - I'm not linked to the site in any way, it's just a cool site that some guys at work stumbled upon. Basically a second hand site, just for games.

There seems to be some cheap PS3 games on there as well.

Have a look: https://budgetgamer.co.za/Search

I bought a pre played PS3 and a bunch of games at a swap shop on Saturday.

The games all work perfectly and were much cheaper than btgames. An example, I paid around R180 for God of war 1, 2 and 3.
I bought Avatar for R70, a star wars game (can't remember which one) for R70 and 2 kids games for around R90 in total.

Generally a retailer will have to add some kind of markup to their stuff, which is fair, but that is why I prefer to deal with people directly. You get a bit more bang for buck :D

What swap shop was this?
