I'm 21 and going bald..my hair has started to really thin out during this year..any of you guys also suffer from premature baldness or who has overcome this? what products did you use? laser therapy? etc

Google DHT, male pattern hair loss

I recommend Nisim, google this one as well

The sooner you start using it the better

Baldness is also hereditary from your mother.Just a useless bit of info!!

Yeah DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is the badboy hormone responsible for male pattern baldness. DHT binds to and basically strangles your hair follicles, making your hair thinner.

You can either block the enzyme (5ar) responsible for DHT conversion (with Propecia/Finpecia/Proscar) but these meds can have side effects although they work best and can regrow lost hair or thicken what you have in most men over time. Or you can use Rogain/Minoxidil which dilates the tiny blood vessels feeding your hair follicles to prevent them dying. I started thinning on top and did lots and LOTS of research. What is working for me (grew back/thickened my hair on my crown) is using Minoxidal 5% topical spray after I shower and washing my hair with shampoo that contains the DHT blocker ketoconazol like Kez, Nizoral or Adco dermed. These shampoos do work as Ketoconazol is a strong DHT blocker.

Nisim might work for some but is much more of a gamble than Minoxidil. Clinical studies show Minoxidil 5% increases hair density in over 80% of candidates. Its R140 at Dischem. Not too pricey but you have to keep using it. Hair loss SUCKS but you can do something about it :)

Happened to me - turns out that it was because I'd been using hair gel every day. The stuff used to cluster my hair into groups, and when I run my hand through my head there would be follicles that fell off way too easily

Only use it occasionally now (and even then, not very much), and my hair is thickening again.

Nisim is guaranteed to work. Studies have proven that more than 85% of users have a regrowth of average 2,5 times the hair density. You can also call Hair Options South Africa for info on Nisim. Just google Hair options.

I don't have anything to do with Nisim nor hair options but this product is really good. Minoxidil is a hair loss solution only for the crown area/ top of the head and not hairline/ upper forehead.

You should mention that e.g. propecia can have bad side effects for men, like loss of libido. I went through this and can tell you that you don't want that.

If you have a general hair thinning problem go for nisim, if the problem is limited to the crown go for minoxidil. I actually didn't know they have it at dischem, thx for the info.

my hair is just beneath my shoulders now and curls. I'm finding it difficult to control my curls and get that nice bounce without a wash making it look like a ****ing perm. Stupid ****ing curly hair.

Next year I turn 30. Then I'm going skinhead. Will take pics & post

Just go with it. The more you fight it the more stressed you become and the more self conscious you will be. Accept yourself for who you are and be confident in yourself and enjoy life!!!

There's no point in dying with a grimace on your face ... :)

I did say propecia has side effects. The possible libido issues are why I won't take it. Nisim and Minoxidil are totally different products and you would benefit from using both.

Nisim has many vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts that promote healthy hair growth. It has saw palmetto as well which is a 'mild' DHT blocker. I never tried it but my brother has and it didn't work for him. He got better results with hair fantastique and minoxidil. That's the thing with hairloss products. Some ppl have better results with different products.

It just increases the blood to the scalp. Something you can do by rubbing with a towel every day.

Stop wearing caps.

I'm lucky, my hair (& nails) grow like weeds.

Baldness is easily avoided by choosing a better Father next time;)

Minoxidil is regaine/rogaine right? I've been using nisim for the last 3 months and i haven't seen any improvement, used regaine a while back but it made me shed a lot..stopped using it but maybe i should give it a try again
