Hi there
How do these premium rated SMS service businesses work? I mean the technical and business side. Here's my extremely rough guess:
1. Business has a cell number
2. Business sends an SMS inviting this number (i.e. person) to subscribe (is this sent by a third party?)
3. Some sort of subscription process (how? double opt in? with a specific service provider, e.g. MTN?)
4. Cell number is now subscribed and business receives money - but for what exactly? (for sending SMS/MMS? How much does it cost?)
5. Cell number unsubscribes (eventually?)
6. Service ends
I've also noticed that many of them are immoral (e.g. R50 a day for naughty pics - seriously?!). How does this play with the spam and legal side of things?
