Prepaid once-off 12 month data

Hi All,

Does Vodacom have any prepaid data deals? I tried to find something on their website but it doesn't seem like there is anything. I remember that they used to have prepaid once-off data deals in the past.

I mean prepaid in the sense that I pay say R500 once-off and get 500MB data per month for 12 months with no more topups/payments required.

I need a small backup connection. Otherwise will just have to rely on Cell C's 3GB for R299 which lasts 12 months.

Have a look here BUT you just need to confirm with a Vodacom REP you won't get charged OOB with a method to cut your connection off [think i worded that right].

Thanks. It is not really once-off though. I just want to pay upfront and be done with it. No contracts.

You need to filter your options. I have attached an image to show what i was trying to mention .

Go to my link above and on the left click on Prepaid then Once Off Bundle and then proceed to the second page. You should now see the options below.

Ah I see. The only packages that suit my requirements are the 1GBx12 for R999 or 2GBx12 for R1499. That's a bit more than I need or want to spend though. Was hoping that there was a 250MBx12 or 500MBx12 package for R500 or less.

i recommend getting a MiFi [+- R599 upwards] device so when you have friends or family in the vehicle then you can stream some media [thanks Mike for the tip ;-) ]. Hope you get sorted.

Just ended up buying a prepaid sim and loaded some airtime. Will buy data bundles as needed.

Tested it last night about 8pm. The latency was quite poor though, jumping up and down all the time. 250ms to +1000ms. In Tygervalley, Cape Town area.
