You also have hydropower, lucky bastards. On the note of water: why is no-one funding power generated by ocean currents?! We're one of the few lucky countries to have ocean on THREE sides!
It is about tides and not currents as far as I know and the difference between high and low tide is not big enough.
I actually wish Eskom just implode. I would gladly sit for a few weeks without power in order for Government to take notice and stop this raping of it's citizens. We need more power suppliers to compete with Eskom !

My uncle works in the auditing department at Eskom and he's been complaining for years that they are expecting him to train up idiots who can't be trained. I can't begin to imagine how bad it is on the operations side...

so wait. where the fsuck is all my money going? my damn electricity has more than doubled so its safe to say that most people have experienced this. where is all our money going? why haven't they been doing maintenance?
