Good day all!
I stream content via a LTE connection, unfortunately no fiber available in the estate, my data package is 100GB=+100GB.
To reduce my data consumption I mostly select SD feeds. The player that I use has the ability to select video output quality. By selecting a lower quality in the player will I further reduce data consumption, or is the data consumption purely predicated on the quality of stream feed I have selected?
Many Thanks!

I don't believe the player will reduce the amount of data, your best bet is to reduce the quality at the source.

100Gb (+100) isn't much to play with. Have you looked at uncapped options like Rain?

Showmax got you covered, they even remove offensive titles

Depends on the codec used to compress.
Here is an example:

1080p x265 =500Mb , 720p x265 x264 =750Mb

You would think that streaming the 720p over the 1080p would use less data, but the 720p is 50% bigger in data size.

Yeah, there is Showmax "1080p", then YIFI 1080p and PublicHD 1080p
