Hey

I'm downloading at 47.5KBPS, and my speed is 303.4 kilobits per second. I don't know bout you guys, but so far, after a month of ADSL, this is the best speed I've ever gotten (download wise).

w00t!

And going up:

335.1 kilobits per second

Compared to all connection types worldwide, yours is above average!
w00t!

Maybe I’m imaging it, but today seems to be MUCH faster already!!!

Can anyone else verify this??

I’m very interested to find out if Telkom has listened to this forum done something about it already.[:D]

Guys heres a little table to help you out to figure what time is best for what use.

Mon-Fri
8:30 - 18:00 : Surfing and e-mail is reasonably fast, downloads will be reasonable (no fast but reasonable)
Online gaming (local) and/or other non HTTP/FTP/SMTP applications range from slow to useless (P2P is useless)

18:00 - 00:00 : Surfing , e-mail speeds improve, downloads should improve as well.
Online gaming and/or other non HTTP/FTP/SMTP applications except P2P should range from good to exceptional. International gaming should be improved.

00:00 - 8:30 : All applications should be vastly improved including P2P applications

Weekend
8:30 - 00:00 : Surfing , e-mail speeds improve, downloads should improve as well.
Online gaming and/or other non HTTP/FTP/SMTP applications except P2P should range from good to exceptional. International gaming should be improved.

00:00 - 8:30 : All applications should be vastly improved including P2P applications.

Basically during business hours a LOT of network traffic is generated and this effects all applications , with ADSL and network shaping non HTTP/FTP/SMTP applications suffer the most.

This is not a conclusive table, but rather one I generated from years of internet use and experimenting lately with my ADSL connection.
