Price drop? anything for April?

Last year around the 10th of March - we got the good news of price reductions of between 40% and 60% for data as of April 07.

Wonder if anything as good is on the horizon this time around.

While I don't know if Vodacom will definitely reduce its data bundle pricing again, as Vodacom did last year and the year before that in April, if prices are reduced, they will be modest price reductions, and perhaps the out of bundle rates will be changed - maybe such that OOBR == IBR, I have now exceeded my personal daily quota of wishful thinking.

What would be nice to see though is say an OOBR the same as Virgins flatrate.

Hmmm OOBR == ZAR0.50/MB?

IMO there are 2 types of OOBR, the first {OOBR.A} is an OOBR that applies when there is no active [not yet expired] and depleted data bundle; and the second {OOBR.B} is an OOBR that applies when a non-expired [active] data bundle is depleted.

I would not expect Vodacom or even MTN to decrease the ZAR2.00/MB that applies to {OOBR.A} since such a decrease would discourage the purchase and use of data bundles.

It would be nice if Vodacom could reduce {OOBR.B}, specifically for PPDBs, like Vodacom did for some of its CDBs.

Yeah... thats kind of where I was heading with my logic....

So us who have bought bundles, and chewed thru them, don't have to pay TOOOO much extra.

As much as I would like to have DBR, I just don't see it happening, and honestly who would want DBR if they could have uncapped? - IMO uncapped circa 2010 [when SEACOM etc are online] is more likely to be implemented than DBR.

I'm still hoping that Vodacom is just waiting to see what impact [if any] NeeTel has on the data consumption market - I prefer not to refer to 300kbits/s..700kbits/s CDMA as broadband - IMO HSDPA has proved that much faster broadband speeds are possible from both Vodacom and MTN, but I am digressing.

May i ask why it is that you change the names of companies in your posts? I know why Telkom gets called all sorts of weird and wonderful names and that guvermint is a derogatory term but now I see Neetel being used too. Why?

NeeTel == NoTelephone, search the forum for NoTel, GeenTel and other variants and you will find that I'm not the only forumite to have noticed a failure to launch where SNOT is concerned.

just use your package 40 - 60 % less

Then you would lose that data when your 30 days expired in effect making the data you have used more expensive
