Price Increases Retail 2016

We need to import more Chinese!

That won't reduce the cost of raw materials which China are buying up in massive qtys.
Adding to that their labor & safety standards are incredibly low compared to ours.
We manufacture the fixtures to assemble the parts with so many fail-safes for human error that it also prices us out of the market which is why you see a large amount of manufacturing that was previously done in SA being outsourced to other countries.
Our work force is a a large factor when determining the actual cost required to obtain manufactured materials.
Our main focus in this country is job creation which we will do at the cost of productivity.

Avo tree takes about 3 years before it bears fruit. Store bought avo pips will grow into trees, but will most likely never bear any fruit.

If you want an Avo tree best would be to pick up one from a nursary.
Good to know!

“Ungrafted” trees (like those grown inside from seeds) rarely produce fruit. In order to have an avocado tree that produces fruit, one must graft the seedling. Since the process of grafting involves mixing the tissues of the seedling with those of a producing tree, it is often just easier to simply buy a grafted tree from a reputable nursery.

I was reading the Financial Times just now on how the imported car parts needed to build local cars, prevents SA cars from being "cheap" export cars.....
Government subsidies for car manufacturing have played a role in makings cars more expensive for South Africans. They haven't had the employment benefits they were intended to have either. Exporting shouldn't be a problem.

Who can't/won't peel their own onions?

Some people are lazy...

But also, if you are catering for a large function, it can actually be quite nice to just pull out an onion and cut it and not have to worry about peeling it.

Get my updates every night from Head Office, if the price on the shelf changes, then the system prints out a batch of new shelf edge labels......

Guess what? Plenty of labels of late.....

so these increases have hit already. fsuck.

It does not all happen in one night, As I place an order and new stock comes through on an electronic invoice, the system will see that the price at the warehouse has increased and automatically generates me a new label, sometimes there can be in excess of 500 labels in a night.....

But in general, there does appear to be more labels of late!

Yeah, food is getting ****ed up expensive.

My domestic proclaimed today that the DA will win the province from the ANC (Gauteng). Apparently everyone she knows are tired of them. Not sure I believe it though, might be a ploy to get an increase
