Hey guys. So I've always played my priest as Disc & Shadow PVE & PVP, never really holy.

I've got the new disc down properly now. The right spec, caps etc etc.
Was sitting with 4.8k sp, 49k mana, 30% crit & 752 haste (soft capped) and some mastery during the icc10 raid.
I'll post some more detail etc. about it later.

What I want to know is if there is any pro, serious, hardcore raiding Holy priests around who have theorycrafted properly, have the op spec, healing spells & priorities etc to use in 4.0.1 as I want to give holy a shot now and some spoon feeding to start with will help :)

TY

Speaking also as Disc Priest havning dabbled in holy last in 3.3.3.
So in other words I'm in the same boat as you and by no means an expert, just flapping my mouth for the sake of conversation.

Looking at the talents
Divine Touch: on casting Renew heals the target instantly for 10% of the total Renew heal.
Gives your renew a flat increase of 10% which is applied instantly on cat. I can't imagine a Holy priest passing on this.

Serendipity:
When healing with Binding Heal or Flash Heal, cast time of Greater Heal or Prayer of Healing is reduced by 20% and the mana cost is reduced by 10%. Stacks up to 2 times.
Seems like Holy got borrowed time of sorts.

Chakra:
When you activate Chakra the next spell you cast determines the bonus effect, I wont detail them all but this one caught my eye.
Heal - Increases the Critical Effect of Heal by 10% and refreshes Renew on your target.

Looking at the above I'd guess a heavy rotation would be something like:
Renew, Flash Heal, Chakra, Heal, Chastise

With the advent of 4.0.1 I think all bets are off as to the "best" rotations. Just dive into the more challenging 5 mans and see whats happens. Also I've yet to see how hard the trash will hit in cata, which if I've understood correctly the answer is "very".
Additionally with all classes getting a boost in health pools, I think we'll be seeing a lot more health bars between 40% and 80% than the 80% to 100% uptime we've been achieving in Wrath.

priest is pretty OP atm, they were top in some of the battle last nights, though druids facerolled the top, rejuv spam >.<

our pallys got out healed by shadowpriest, was sad >.< considering guy playing holy pally for 4 years lol

I've just respeced my Priest yesterday. Only done a few heroics. Must say, it was fun :D

I'll share my spec and glyphs later tonight :)

I know you are curious to try Holy out, but the idea of Smite Healing (via the New Atonement Talent) sounds like a really novell concept!

Although it does have some limitations (probably not as great on encounters that require the group to spread out from the target).
But I'm certain we'll see this cropping up in PvP.

Sorry, I went to see The Last Airbender instead :p

At work now so I'll post laters :o
