Wait, is this Sneaker Headz Za's disclaimer? (that they sell reps) He shot himself in the foot then. This only substantiates me stating that they may be the same as prime sneakerz. Doesn't matter anyway. Was just laughing at the screenshots he sent. They seem quite conveniently specific don't u think?

Also they kind of do sell them as authentic. If I ran a sh!tty restaurant disguised as KFC with terrible service but was selling KFC. KFC was on the menu but then when people tasted it and it was rubbish, only then did I tell them "oops not really KFC" or I said place an order first then talk to me and during the convo I sed "Eat ****!" and handed them their meal, then that's balls.

How the hell can u mark down an original abt 80% just for a defect. U have to wear those shoes while hopping land mines in Iraq to have a defect worthy of 80% markdown. Also if they marked it down that much the shoes should be really f**cked. So then they should use original HD images of the specific merchandise instead of using Nike's promo images to be as transparent as a non-scamming business would be. They don't mention the fact that they sell defected Nike's on their website either.
I kno that sometimes Nike may just throw away defects but then factory workers get their hands on them first and sell them at around $150 plus shipping and then u pay customs (though it could be sent as a gift to avoid custom duties) Still doesn't explain how u get to such a low price.

Also they didn't send any screenshots where they state in whatsapp convo that they sell defected shoes. And why the hell would he disclose the person's face and number. Blur those out. But I guess desperation makes u do such things.

Going a bit off-topic here, but I had to run for 1.5 years (with EFT sales totaling over R 10 million) before starting to accept card, as I needed to get monthly volume high enough to negotiate gateway fees down to an acceptable level. Not everyone who only accepts EFT is a scam :) The scammers just give us a bad name :(

That was back in the 90's bro..

Anyone can afford a payment gateway now, they have minimal redtape and moderate fees, Snapscan, Zapper, Yoco and there's a few others.

You try running a online shop with a 5% margin on supplier prices and then have to pay half of that to the payment gateways.

What's the point of even being in business if the margins are only 5% or are they very high value items?

Neither Zapper nor Yoco integrate with my store. SnapScan is not as versatile as PayFast (you need an app on your phone, and payment needs to be done via said app). PayFast is the most versatile/flexible, and charges start at 3.5% + VAT + R 2 (effectively 4.025% including + R 2).

You clearly don't know the industry :p What sort of margin do you think there is on hardware?

7.5% is enough to ensure that you're among the most expensive in the country. 5% puts you mostly on par with others, although sometimes more expensive.
 
Who were their payment processors? This should be your first port of call with a suspected scam site. If you paid using a card you should be protected by your bank, if you paid using EFT then SFYL

it obviously depends on the industry but talking specifically about online computer shops. You have to be competitive with the likes of Wootware and evetech or else you are just wasting your time. What puts you at a even bigger disadvantage is that they get preferential pricing because of the volumes they push.

Gross, slightly less. Net, a fair bit less.

That R 200,000 order people think is enough to live on for a few months? It doesn’t even cover running costs for a month. It’s all about massive volumes :)

I can tell you there are guys (operating as sole props - almost certainly not paying taxes, definitely not paying VAT) that are making less than R 180 on that R 20k card. For them it’s not about volume (the wheels fall off their operation as soon as they need to refund a customer) but rather about having an extra grand in their pocket at the end of the month.
