Private Number, No answer??

Is nobody else a little bit paranoid about handing your details to a third party - Truecaller? I edited and changed my name on their system. Truecaller also reports my bank as spam - it also doesn't declare the name so I have to now take the spam calls in case there's an incoming transfer from the bank.

Paranoid? On a smartphone? "All your base belong to us."

Someone marked your banks number as spam, so now you have to save it, name it correctly and mark as not spam.

There are a bunch of numbers - it's a national call center.

I know I use Truecaller to look up advertisers on gumtree - your number and name are now associated thanks to Truecaller. It's about people using that info.

Marketing - they're recording the likeliness of you answering a call at a particular time of day.

I wish there was a way to stop it... but I'm grateful for Truecaller!

I like the cut of your jib; you are indeed correct. They are absolutely enriching a lead list.
There are some really strange metrics that get applied, but it is all about creating profiles. I could actually talk for days about the novelty of this criminal enterprise.

If you are well enough off, and receive great amounts of these calls, time to pay close attention to your accounts.

^^^This. Install TrueCaller so that you can see what the number or caller really is.

This would be my proposal.

Truecaller would block ALL private numbers though, and some might be useful...

The way I deal with this is answer the phone call, but I say nothing until I hear something on the other end of the phone....

I only block or report actual numbers. I haven't it pop up as "private number" in a while now that I think of it.

I have the same problem with the private number calling and no one on the other side 99% of the time.

That looks like mine Mine was every hour.

Anyhow as for private numbers, MTN by default sets you call to private I found, I had to enable it after I found that everyone I phoned when I changed phones, rejected my calls :twisted:

Some more numbers to block, they been trying to call me all day but on my block list . Seems to be the same company as they all tried to call me today.
