Problem accessing iTunes store from Mac using MWEB as IPS

Apple is probably blocking certain IP ranges coming through, don't think it's MWEB. They don't want a BlackBerry situation now do they. But yeah I cant pull iTunes 10.5 off Apple.com
So why is it working when I switch my router to AXXESS IPS?

I have received a sms from MWEB :"*Resolved* Seacom failure resulting in slow access affecting browsing and downloads".
It has not resolved the iTunes problem.

I'm having the same problem on two different mweb uncapped accounts at two different locations. It only seems to be affecting access to the iTune store from my Mac, not from my iPhone.

I have tried flushing the DNS cache and deleting the iTunes preferences plist to no avail.

We're you able to ping all the Apple DNS addresses in the link? Isolating any failed addresses might help Mweb solve this quicker.

Good morning All

Please note that we are aware of the problem our MAC users are encountering with iTunes, our network team is investigating. We are finding that this could also be linked to certain area's, please let me know what area your are in and if you are using a MAC?

Kind regards,
MWEB Guy

You can always get you copy using a direct link to apple. That should work even with MWEB :D.

Hi MWEB Guy...
Using a Macbook Pro Unibody...
Kempton Park, Gauteng

I'm in Midrand area. 4 Mac's are affected here.

@Castafiore, it doesn't help as iTunes still needs to sign your SHSH blob in order to restore the iOS firmware.

Very frustrating as all I want to do is update my devices.

Using a MAC and in Craighall Park area.

Was about to upgrade my line but if this goes on for much longer I may need to cancel it instead and change ISP's.

Please sort this out, or at least keep us updated.

Any new news guys? i spoke to mweb 5 days ago and they said they looking into it and it should be resolved in a day or two, so far still nothing. its rather irritating!!

did any of you manage to upgrade to iOS 5?

Hi Everyone,

We are aware of the iTunes issue and have noted all the queries. We are currently investigating.

We have asked certain members to send us tests and will update you after investigation has been completed.

Your patience during this time is much appreciated.

Kind regards,

MWEB Guy

It's been over a week that we've been experiencing this problem. Couldn't wait any longer!

I called up OpenWeb yesterday and had a new account active within 15 minutes.

7/11 of us at our office use Mac's and we were all stranded with no iTunes access.

Maybe it's time we consider changing ISP's...

Hey MWEB Guy
We're having the same problem on the entire North Coast from Durban up to Salt Rock!
Ciao
