Problem accessing router from the internet

Hi,

Biggie and I work together. Just to give more details about this:

We have a GPRS router and are trying to access it via an ADSL/iBurst line. We want to see the configuartion page on port 80.

The image you see is what we see.

It seems to be that MTN blocks all ports on GPRS devices - is this true?

Anyway around this if it is true?

Hi

I tried to configure a linksys 3G router with dyndns and then connect to the router like that. But it cant ping the Dyndns name. Not even when i ping the wan ip of the router. I phoned Vodacom and after about 2 hours of referring and stupid techies i got through to a superior. They say that all the incoming ports is block on default. They cannot open any ports for you because of security reasons. But he also said that they are busy developing a system that you could do remote desktop or access a router close to the end of the year.

Thanks Snormossel - I know about what Vodacom is trying to do - there is a thread on MyADSL about that.

If Vodacom have been able to set up such a system and MTN has nothing, we should maybe look at Vodacom

Yes but they(vodacom) couldnt tell me when this system will be implicated.
Have you spoken to MTN about it?

Far as I understand Vodacom has implemented the unrestricted APN which allows incoming connections but they cannot provision it or nobody knows about it - one of the two.

Hey

I'm having problems accessing my router from the internet. I want to connect to my router remotely via Dynamic DNS but it seems the port i'm using does not allow this. I'm using an MTN sim card with the APN: "myMTN". The error i get is at the link below:

Can anyone help me resolve this?

We use private IP addressing, and they are not reachable from the internet
