Here's the deal:
Had a Tracker installed last Friday (Toyota Quantum panel van), and on Sunday my woes started. The driver couldn't get the damn van started, even I gave it a shot. Bear in mind I've had this panel van for just under a year and it NEVER had this problem - in fact I've never experienced any problems with it.
The only way to get it to start now is to kick/push start it, and that's risky because these things are heavy. The driver now has to have someone with him and park the thing on an incline or else not turn the ignition off at all.
So yesterday I had the Tracker people take a look at it , and guess what? The technician fiddled with something, got in and it started! Told me that the installation is standard and they've done numerous installs on Quantums and never had any problems
What fscks with my mind even more is this morning before I left for work I took the keys, plugged in the immobilizer thingamabob, waited for the light to flash, pulled it out, put in the key and...it started! So now I don't know WTF is going on anymore. This is how we always started it, but now it seems to only want to start when its in the mood.
Do I
a) Tell Tracker to remove their unit. They told me I have 5 days and if I have no objections the 36 month contract becomes binding
b) Take the vehicle to an Auto Electrician and have him take a look at my battery, starter, or wtf ever could be the problem at my expense. I'm entertaining this thought as the installation might have exposed an underlying problem which I wasn't aware of.
