Hey Guys

Its been a while my 3G HSDPA connection has been great of late. Then yesterday I came into a problem. Was playing Guild Wars great on Tuesday night and them had a few disconnects at around 23H30 hours. Next day was able to connect 100% to the internet but tried to connect to Guild Wars not a chance. Gets stuck on 0% and thats that. Chatted to some Gurus on gwonline.net and did a gw.-diag and they thought the connection may be fine but that the ISP may be blocking the out going port used to connect to Guild Wars. Now I am a Technical N00b and dont know too much about these things. Any of you guys have any ideas ?

I disabled my Firewall and AVG and had the same issue. Everything else works 100% except my connection to Guild Wars. I even uninstalled the adaptor and and software and re-installed still no luck.

Suggestions say that something may be blocking port 6112 incoming

Need to get my daily fix can anyone suggest something ?

Thanks !!!

Mebe your Guildwars are stuffed..

Either that or Vodacom/MTN is blocking or shaping that specific port that Guildwars uses

I was thinking the Guild Wars may be corrupt but cant think why ? Actually tried re-installing it but cant as it wont connect to Arena Net which is a requirement. I am going to try and replace the files with files from work and see what happens. Very Strange. Im hoping it isnt Vodacom restricting the ports for som strange reason.

Got your PM's thanks.

It's definitely not a port shaping / restriction issue. We don't do this at all.

It might be some authentication issue caused by the caching engines or proxy servers.

You did not give me a area you're in. It might be a localised thing.

Anyone else seeing the same as Jason?

Im in Chartwell North Dainfern Area back of Fourways ! Thanks again V3g for looking into this for me. I did log a call with vodacom helpdesk spoke to allistar but he didnt Log it as its quite a confusing situation lol. He spoke to a techie there who suggested I go into tools and ADD VPN to the APN internet option as from time to time ports can get blocked ?? All giberish to me but Im not too confident on this suggestion I will try this evening. It seems like it may be related to all online games as I also tried to Update World of Warcraft and that also just sits there with no activity ?

It's been quite a while since the last post but I was wondering if it was sorted out?

The thing is I have the same problem right now... can't log into Guild Wars but Eve-Online and everything else works great.

Any ideas?
