So my WISP installed a dish to their wireless transmitter, which outputs into the PPOE In port on a Mikrotik Routerbox they supplied.

I tried just plugging the cable out the Mikrotik's PPOE In port and into the back of a standard Telkom D-Link VDSL/ADSL router's WAN port.

Running the D-Link's setup wizard passes step 2 (it tests and finds a signal) but then fails at step 3:

How do I get past that? The router isn't prompting me for any details, it's just failing permanently at that step (where it Tests, Fails and performs a Factory Reset).

The PPPoE connection the Telkom D-Link router us testing with on step 3 is the Telkom guest account which only works a ADSL line.

If you change the URL in your web browser to only the IP address it should load the main login screen where you can the settings.

Example:
http://10.0.0.2/

The mikrotik is probably doing the PPPOE dialup. You would need to know if this is infact the case and if so you will need to create a PPPOE dialup in the adsl/wan router(obviously if they have supplied the usename and password)
