Hey! I got my friend to buy World of Warcraft Classic today.

Classic starts at 2.4.0 from the DVD that he got in the package.

He patched it up to 2.4.3 with patches I sent him over MSN. No problem.

However installing patch 2.4.3 -> 3.0.1 he gets the following error.

BlizzardInstaller said:
The file "Interface\GLUES\COMMON\GLUES-WOW-BCLOGO.BLP" in archive "C:\World of Warcraft\Data\enGB\patch-enGB.MPQ" could not be opened, because an error 2 occurred. If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support. (MPQFile: OpenFromArchive)
To check this installation for problems, click the "Repair" button. The Repair tool can automatically fix many update errors.

Anyone have any idea whats up? That patch (2.4.3 -> 3.0.1) he downloaded from the isgaming ftp server. ~900MB file.

It was only installertomb2.mpq in the zip file from the isgaming website so I found my old download on my drive with the other 3 files which was about 70MB in total. Sent via MSN. He ran updater.exe and it gives that error at the start.

He has all the patches downloaded now so he doesnt have cap to redownload things, but he has local cap. Hence why he downloaded things the way he did.

There is no Burning Crusade or Wrath installed on this machine.

Any advise or silly things I missed?

Send him the blizzard downloader tool, works on Local cap and can patch him up all the way to wrath

Sounds like the MPQ file he grabbed and you provided were different subversions and now game be unhappy

Cool. Thanks for your reply

How do we make sure it sticks to local as often as possible? So far we dont have a problem yet.. going to try now, but I am just guessin maybe it wont pick up the local mirrors?
