Problem with Apple mail and Gmail

Hi Guys,

I set up apple mail with imap to my gmail a while ago (on leopard) and decided to start using it again today (on snow leopard). Apple mail cannot connect to the gmail account anymore. I decided to delete and re-add my account but i am now getting this error.

Logging in to the Gmail IMAP server “imap.gmail.com” failed. Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click Continue. If the information isn’t correct, you cannot receive messages.

I have made sure imap is turned on in my gmail (even switched it off and on again to make sure). Any one have any ideas? Do i need to change the way authentication is done somewhere maybe ?

Ok so, after lots of googling for hour the past hour this seems to be a very common problem on apple mail 4.1 and gmail. The solution is to go to:

https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha

and "unlock" your gmail account. I still had to delete and re-add the account to get it to work. Downloading all my mail again!
