problem with cell c 3gig usb modem

Bought the cell c 3 gig special for R599 when i came home plugged it in but it said not network coverage but I had check twice once at Autopage and once at the cell c store and it showed that I fell just within the coverage. pull the sim out and put in my phone and get almost full bars reception on my phone, now I am currently using my phone has a hotspot, so what's going wrong here?

What stick are you using ?
So you use sim in phone and all works ?
Have you tried else were ?

Did you guys ever sort this problem ut? I am also having the exact same problem, I can connect via windows 7 network and sharing, but when opening the connector software, It just says No Network, no signal and the connect button is also greyed
