Problem with CODECS

Please help

Where on earth can one find codecs for windows media player 11.
Theres an AVI file that once opened with media pladia only plays the audio part of the video clip and not the video it self. I've inported the file into the Library and its set to download codecs on auto. But apparantly it doesnt play video. is there perhaps a Wikipedia library on the net explaining all the different codecs and its players????

There's such alot of media players each with their own codecs its all rather mind boggling. And now I also have a gvi which onlyplays with googe media player. wow!

Or get KMPlayer. Unfortunately I am capped at the moment so I can't give a link.

Both VLC and KMPlayer are great media players. No need for external codecs.

I prefer KMPlayer because of its tiny footprint and it looks great. Both are good though.
