Since I have done a iOS update to iOS 11.1.1, I am having problems with my Iphone 6s Plus mobile data connection on a Vodacom contract. If the phone has been on a wifi connection and you are back on mobile data, it does not work. To get it working again, you have manually go to "mobile data", enter "mobile data options", then enter "mobile Data Network" and then "reset settings" everytime. I have contacted Vodacom about this problem and according to them it is a problem with iOS 11.1.1. of which Apple is aware. I have this issue for the last 3 weeks.

Has anybody got some advice. Really cumbersome having to manually reset my mobile data settings everytime.

I had the same problem and reported it as a bug to Apple, exactly the same issue with the same phone, same network.

The issue seems to have gone away in the last week or so however.
What I was doing was to just swipe up, hit airplane mode, and wait about 5 seconds, go out of airplane mode and that fixed the issue the quickest way for me.

I have a iPhone 7+ on iOS 11.1 and same problem... Has been an issue since 11.0

Same problem with my iPhone 6 since iOS 11, seems to have improved a bit since iOS 11.1.1
But today I had to put Airplane mode on and off about 15 minutes after leaving home WiFi when I saw 4G was not working.

I seem to recall it had something to do with turning off LTE/4G to make it work.

More specifically turning off LTE for Voice, but I don't have that options on my phone so many it's a 6S and newer thing?

Yes indeed it is a thing.

So change it to Data only and see if your problem is solved.

I'm guessing it's not supported by the network but falsely turned on by default.

I had this problem with my 6s on vodacom, after upgrading to X 10 days ago I turned on data and voice and had no problem. Then 5 days ago the problem come back. and had to turn back to data only on 4G

Any ones else noticed this?

PROBLEM SOLVED! - you need to change all the APN entries on your phones cellular data settings to the word "internet"
