On the Vlive! APN, I am using my SE W900i as I modem, I use the *9## etc prefix to dial in via GPRS and it connects fine no problemo ( connected at 460KBPS) but will not allow me to browse or download email. Any ideas, I have tried the INTERNET and VODACOM APN's to the same effect??? Do i need to use a different dial in prefix?

I've used *99***1# on my nokia 6600 previously (Vodacom), but since i reloaded the pc i can't seem to connect.
Also read about using *99# to connect.

Tried, it connects, received 214 bytes and thats it..no action.

If it's a pre-paid SIM, make sure you use the internet APN, either by specifying it in the connect string or by setting it as the default on your phone.

You won't be able to aces your mail via the VLive if on pre-paid.

Its a contract SIM and I have tried all APN's. I will try a pre-paid SIM and post results. Thanks!

mmm to me that sounds like Vodacoms firewall is blocking you... not a major problem if you know what you are doing.

Hey

I'm use my SonyEricsson T630 to connect via gprs over blootooth and also had to search around a bit to figure out how. Also had the problem of it connecting but nothing else. Had to find the right dialing thing.

I use *99***2# to dial. If this is your prob its because you have to find the right CID value of the internet.GPRS account on your phone (mynes 2). Dunno of its the same thing on yours but this is how i find mine: Connectivity->Data comm->Data accounts-> internet.GPRS.
Should have something that says CID=2 or watever. Then just the '2' in the dial code above must change to watever the phone says it is.

If this isnt your prob then sorry for making u read all this. :D
