Problems converting a Telkom Mix sim to prepaid

I have been battling for weeks with my local Telkom Shop trying to get a contract-expired Telkom Mix sim card converted to prepaid.

Every time we go in they can't explain what is wrong and then send emails or log an incident with someone or other, but the problem doesn't get resolved. My daughters phone was stolen on 19 Nov and, even though we have done a sim-swap, she hasn't had the use of her cell number since.

Does anybody have any suggestions, or even better, the ability to chase things up a bit?

Thanx, but the Telkom shop has made a bit of a break through, so let's give them some time to resolve the issue.

Something to do with a cancelled landline and the connected mobile account. We need to wait for the cancellation to go through before the mobile number can be converted to prepaid.
