This might be the wrong place to post this. (Mods can Move it if it doesnot belong here)
I have been having problems "trying" to upload my website to GamCo's servers. Corel doesnot seem to connect via ftp to their servers and a direct upload does not display my website. I have Checked their FAQ, renamed my site to "index.htm", put it in the correct folder, but my site doesnot seem to appear. However I get an error message saying " This error (HTTP 400 Bad Request) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the web server, but the webpage could not be found because of a problem with the address.":confused:

Please help:o

Heres a slight possibility but it's only slight as I say :p http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826437

Well so basically you have uploaded the index.htm file with html code and all to the host server and when you try open that page it gives you the error.

put it in the correct folder

Im not really into webpages that much but you put the index.htm file in a folder? Should that not be in the root directory of your "account" instead? It also depends on how you are typing in the URL :)

Hi,

Could you post the website address?

What I recommend you do is use a stand-alone FTP client to upload all your files and make sure these uploads are directed to the /public_html directory (assuming they / you are on a *nix system). Ensure that index.html is all in lowercase.

Hope that helps - maybe ask their support for answers?

Its the free service. the interface is plesk. and the website is for an architect the address is "www.cda.za.net"

Well, it looks like you're getting what you're paying for. (And no, I'm not trying to be a smart @ss -- for 20 bucks a month you could be getting all the bells and whistles you need, with 24 hour support and your website set up correctly. There are a number of forum members who offer good hosting services for not very much money.)

:)thanks for the help people. I'll convince the guy to go for a paid option.
My recommendation to him: TEXO (the prices look "dirt" cheap):D
