Hi,
I can stream via my phone but not at full high definition with my laptop during loadshedding. The phone runs at a much lower resolution than full high definition. I got the 20mbps package which have always worked in the past. My isp - Axxess says there's nothing they can do. There's nothing wrong with my wifi. My router is less than 6 months old and yes I do have backup power for the laptop, ONT and router. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi @heinf

Strange issue...I mean during loadshedding there would be fewer people online I'm sure... less traffic, less congestion, less interference from other neighbouring wifi...Maybe an issue with the UPS and its power output? Only thing I can think of... or does the router run in a power saving mode when it runs on UPS/backup power perhaps?

Are your wireless signal levels noticeably weaker when there is loadshedding?

What speed are you getting if you run a speedtest? Check if there is a noticeable difference when you have power vs when you have loadshedding...i would start there. Not sure if you use boosters or wireless extenders on your network...perhaps that could be a factor. Check speeds 1st... also if your router is dual-band (2.4ghz and 5ghz frequencies) perhaps try alternating and seeing if one works better than the other,,, for a 20mbps line i'd probably just use 2.4ghz

Do a speed test on laptop during load shedding.
