Hi all,

Anyone in CPT central having problems?
I've noticed that speeds have been bad all day, not getting more than 70KB/s

At this time of night, I'm normally getting 150KB/s.

Odds are the contention ratio is filling up with new users. The first members of iBurst and Sentech probably ask the same questions when their service became popular.

Slow

I am in CT Northern Suburbs, its quite slow tonite, normally hav 4 bars of reception but niow it fluctuates between 2 and 3. Has happened before but restored within half a day. Will wait and see.

This morning my phone had 3 bars and I was doing about 40KB/s

There is definately something up Neotel.

@Rep

Any idea what is going on?

Yeah - also having probs in jhb. Modem shoes green - excellent connection and I have almost no connectivity. Couldnt even dload a 1mb file.

You guys are very lucky to get those speeds, I would dream of speeds close to that in JHB. I am running daily speed tests and I do not get more than 100kbps, aprox 15KB/s....

Still waiting for resolution....

NeoConnect Prime gives you a wireless phone with high speed and high capacity Internet access, SMS and voice, on a single account. But what you really get is everything, and more:

* High Performance Internet with peak download speeds of up to 2.4Mbps, and average speeds between 300 and 700Kbps. That's 40 times faster than an average dial-up connection.
* High data capacities from 2.5GB to unmlimited data.
* Crystal-clear voice ensuring high quality, flawless conversations, all the time, every time, at the cost of traditional landline calls.
* Enhanced voice services such as Caller Line Identification (CLI), call-forwarding and call-waiting for greater flexibility in managing your communications.
* Even more ways to keep in touch with the ability to send and receive SMS, as well as your own email account.
* A wireless service you can use anywhere within the rapidly expanding coverage area.
* True convergence with a single phone number, one device, one account and so many ways to communicate.
* Hassle-free communications that come ready to use, with no complex installation requirements.
* True value with a single, all-inclusive monthly fee and uncomplicated usage charges for any out-of-package usage. All in one bill. No fine print.
* Instant connectivity as soon as you are activated. Activations are done in-store if purchasing via PostNet. Alternatively, you can order online or through the Contact Centre on 0800 333 636.

Luck's got nothing to do with it. Its about getting what was stated as average. Even if its on the lower end of the average.

I was getting what was stated, but that's why I think there is a problem because I'm def not getting it now... anyways, I'm not home for the whole day, so hopefully by tonight when I do get home (at like 12) from the Maynardville Carnival, things may have come right.

*glares at Neotel rep* ;)

Wouldn't 40KB/s still be within the average stated speeds? :p

...or 150KBps for that matter?

I'd say erasma's point was that if Neotel was full of what that advert spoke of, plenty of notel users would constantly be wiping their feet, and whoever wrote that advertising on Neotel packages should wipe their mouth.

@ushir, that is so true, I would not be complaining if I received the lowest avearge rate promised? Currently I can not even browse the internet properly and this is on a Prime Unlimited package...

Paying almost a grand a month for not being able to browse the internet is rediculous...

Anyways, hope they will fix before too many customers cancel within the first month of service....
