Processing payments online

Anyone have any experience of this?

I'd like to be able to process payments, credit card or otherwise, online and wondered what is required to set this up.

Setcom has everything already and on how to integrate it into your system
 
Thanks for all the suggestions - lots to look at and consider. I'm surprised really by how many options there seem to be, and by how straightforward it seems to be.

Hmm, looks interesting drowssap.

This is kind of a back up plan for when all other methods of extracting payment from customers has been exhausted, so the idea of being charged per transaction (even if its a little higher) certainly has advantages over paying a basic monthly fee.

Basically, I'm tired of the "I forget my checkbook" routine, and I want to make sure that there're no excuses for these people not to pay. :rolleyes:
 
I got something from BTGames yesterday and found out they are also using www.vcs.co.za

I still recommend them, it integrates so nicely into your current application.
I would stay with a local company personally as well.

Try setting up a merchant account to process your payments. I've had merchant processing for a while now and its worked great accepting payments on my site.
 
Look at setcom.co.za, mygate.co.za, pricetag.co.za. All these gateways have systems where you do not need to qualify for a merchant account at the bank. Also make sure you have a ssl certificate showing on your site.

This thread has actually been beneficial to me too, I was going to use moneybookers.com for my new site but since there are many good local sites to use, you guys helped me a lot here.

seems that your choice will be influenced by which bank you do your banking with

they all have some requirements with regard to published terms and conditions of service with particular reference to refund policies etc - depends on what you are selling
