Must have skills in C#, .NET, SQL

This is to join Lucid Ocean in Cape Town.

The internship will be focused on training you up and can result in a full-time position.
The first month is regarded as an unpaid internship position, but we can help you cover transport costs.

You will (probably, maybe, hopefully) learn more in the one month, than you have in the last year. (We will try our best)

It is (or might be) a great learning opportunity.

Wow that is arrogant.
Nice thing to do/have free labor, but really arrogantly phrased.

Also its not to get free labour. Lucid has interned 15 people who were paid for their transport, who were taught enough to be placed in other positions. All 15 now have a career where they couldnt get a job before.

Lucid does great by their interns. They

a little touchy ... I do agree though with Johnatan56 saying
You will learn more in the one month, than you have in the last year
is rather arrogant you don't know what someone has learned in the last year ?

Great idea though and good on you but why the stark reaction ?

Well I would call that a debatable point not arrogance.
One person assumes arrogance, the next assumes touchiness.

Why all the strange assumptions?

I am neither touchy nor arrogant.

I just offer great training to newbs.

People tend to have a lot to say.
I have nothing more to say. I should have listened to the years of experience where forums are just used to argue and mislead and read things that are not there.
There are so many examples of good intentioned posts being slated by people who have no interest in the topic in any case, ruining it for the people who may get something put of it.

Does it really matter you think its arrogant? Does it really upset your day?
What is the point of making a go?

The problem with your post is it requires prior knowledge of languages. If you were offering people with rudimentary computer skills and training, great.

People with the knowledge in your first post can get paid jobs and still attain training and experience.

There is one thing knowing the reference side of a language, but quite another to know how to program a solution that works well according to specs, limiting TechnicalDebt and dealing with Software Entropy. It is quite an undertaking to know the complete cycles.
the full development cycle for large projects, design to deployment.

There are however thousands of people who go on courses and try to self study, and who have copy/paste syndrome. These people will learn how to create real quality driven, object-oriented software within an agile methodology. They will learn about scrum, design patterns, architectural analysis, SOA, B2B, B2C. They will learn.

Software Entropy is something that your just our of training juniors are not familiar with. I have never had juniors who can master design, entropy and other software facets at the same time as learning the language. They may know the language, but you cant expect them to have experience in building software solutions. Experience comes with time. This internship will provide a lot of insights.

Is it not arrogant to think that because you have learnt some C# on a course, that you are now not a newb?

Coding is not about the language and whether you know the basic form of the language - that is just the beginning.
